  • ¼ cup sugar

  • ⅓ cup white vinegar

  • 1 or 2 cloves garlic, mashed

  • Salt to taste

  • 6 Kirby cucumbers, thinly sliced

    In a mixing bowl, combine one and one-quarter cups water with the sugar, vinegar, garlic and salt, if desired.

Decrease sugar Increase vinegar

Use 1/4 of the sugar, add sliced onions

A teaspoon of sugar is plenty. Out of garlic? Use half a shallot.

Used seasoned rice wine vinegar, half the sugar, and let them marinate all day in the refrigerator, really enjoyed them…
