A good balance of sweet and not, very refreshing. It's also good with gin or dark rum and topped off with club soda if you'd like something to sip in larger quantities.
To be authentic use Cachaca (Brazilian rum). Delish.
My hot weather variation: - juice of a whole lime per drink - 5 cherries - a good amount of fresh mint leaves - 3/4 ounce simple syrup -at least 6 ice cubes Stick it all in a blender It’s a tart, minty, slushy variation of the same drink
I reduced the simple syrup to 1/4 ounce, which lets the muddled cherries and lime flavors shine! This reduction also keeps the drink clean and refreshing if you choose to top it with a good sparking water.
definitely use Cachaza - it is delicious!
Good customizable cocktail! Made this at a party, swapped out the white rum for dark rum and it was really good. Also tried it with mezcal and gin (not at the same time) and it was really nice as well, I actually preferred it with gin!
